The town of Bečov nad Teplou is located just 25 km from Karlovy Vary. It is one of the best preserved Czech castles – Bečov Castle with its terraced gardens, under which are the vast cellars of the former brewery. The castle is situated in a valley surrounded by wooded hills near the Teplá River. The greatest jewel of the castle is the reliquary of St. Maurus, which contains so-called gems dating from the 1st to 3rd century AD.
You can also visit the Museum of Motorcycles and Czech Toys in the historic building of the former district court. The museum has a collection of 50 historic motorcycles, historic bicycles and motorcycle engines. Some of the most unique items include the first DKW motorcycle produced or the Wagner 500 OHC, now the only one in the world. The first floor of the museum is then occupied by a permanent exhibition of wooden toys and family puppet theatres and puppets.
On the territory of the Slavkov Forest there is a small Bečov Botanical Garden with interesting and rare plants.
