The spa town of Karlovy Vary is famous for its mineral springs with beneficial effects. There are 13 publicly accessible healing springs. The most famous of them is the 72 °C hot spring, which gushes up to 12 metres high. You can take a tour of the underground hot spring. The springs are located in and around the colonnades. You can visit the Market, Mill, Castle and Orchard colonnades and admire their beautiful architecture or taste the springs they hide.
You can see this beauty from the heights of the Diana tower or the Jelení skok lookout. The tower is reached by cable car, or the more adventurous can walk along the marked trail. There is also a butterfly house in the area, which offers a wonderful spectacle into the world of butterflies.
During the film festival season, the Thermal Hotel and the Grandhotel Pupp become the most sought-after buildings, where film celebrities from all over the world stay. You can also visit these important places in the low season. There is also a public swimming pool on the terrace of the Thermal Hotel. You will not only take away beautiful memories from your visit to Karlovy Vary, but you can also take away traditional spa wafers or a liqueur called Becherovka, to which the entire museum is dedicated.
